The Place Cambridge is famous for its university and for being the
UK's most developed "science-based industry cluster".
Cambridge itself is well described by a large number of websites and
the Cambridge Network is a good guide to "the cluster"
and also to other events happening in Cambridge.
The meeting was held in
Pembroke College (est. 1347),
in the centre of Cambridge, with
an evening meal in college for those spending a night in Cambridge before the meeting.
Six attendees took advantage of the unusual option of staying an extra night in college to enjoy part of
the weekend in Cambridge.
We were lucky: it was a sunny day, fresh in the morning and warm later. Cambridge in mid-April
can be as warm as 30oC, or as cold as 3oC; but it is usually fairly dry. You can see what the weather is like
right now.
Graphical charts of
the weather in April since 1996 are available online.
